There are few things I love more than getting to photograph a couple who found me through past clients, and Haley & Gio’s wedding day was such a perfect example of why. Haley discovered me through Kaitlyn & Kennedy, and getting to continue photographing this group of friends has been such a blessing. There’s something so special about seeing familiar faces, watching friendships continue to grow, and getting to celebrate the next couple as they step into their own wedding day. It makes every wedding feel just a little more personal!
And we were back at one of my favorite venues outside of the Chicagoland area, Etre Farms! I’m always excited to photograph here, and it did not disappoint for Haley & Gio’s summer wedding.
Etre Farms Wedding Day
Their July wedding day was classic and timeless, with black and white details woven throughout the day. But more than anything, this was a day about the people they love most. From the very beginning, you could feel just how much Haley & Gio appreciated everyone who showed up to celebrate with them. There were so many big emotions, happy tears, hugs, and moments that made it clear just how loved these two are.
And then there was the weather. We had some pretty crazy Michigan thunderstorms rolling through as we were getting started… That seems to be becoming a bit of a theme this year! Thankfully, the beautiful grounds at Etre gave us plenty of options. We were still able to capture all of the photos while making the most of the breaks in the weather.
One of the sweetest parts of the day was getting to spend time with Walter, their dood! He was such an important part of their day. I know those photos with him were high on Haley & Gio’s list of must-have moments. There was also a beautiful memorial honoring Haley’s sister. A beautiful way to honor someone incredibly important and to include her in the celebration.
And then, of course, there were donkeys. Because every great wedding needs a little surprise, right?!
Celebrating Haley & Gio
From their first look to the moments with Walter to finally hitting the dance floor, Haley & Gio were simply so excited to be married. They soaked in the day, celebrated hard, and spent as much time as possible surrounded by their favorite people. And honestly, I truly believe that’s what a wedding day should feel like!
Haley & Gio, thank you for trusting me to document such an important day! What a joy to document another celebration with this sweet group of people. I’m so grateful Kaitlyn & Kennedy sent you my way, and I’m even more grateful that I got to be there to capture all of it. Here’s to a lifetime of love, laughter, and plenty of dance floor moments!
