When I arrived to photograph Kennedy and Daniel’s wedding day at The BRIX, it felt like stepping into the middle of a celebration that had already been building for months. Every room was buzzing with excitement, every person seemed genuinely thrilled to be there, and the energy never let up throughout the entire day!
If you’ve read about their engagement session, you probably won’t be surprised by that. From the very beginning, Kennedy and Dan have been all about their people. You can read more about their story and engagement session here.
One of the things that stood out most during the wedding planning process was how excited they were to celebrate with their family and friends. With a bridal party of 12 on each side, some vendors might see a 24-person wedding party and immediately panic. Not this crew! In fact, they may have officially become my favorite large wedding party of all time.
Despite the summer heat and a packed timeline, every single person showed up ready to support Kennedy and Dan. They were respectful, enthusiastic, patient, and just so excited to celebrate their friends. There was zero complaining and endless encouragement. If I could photograph a wedding party like this every weekend, I absolutely would!
The day began with all the moments Kennedy had been looking forward to for months. Sweet time spent getting ready with her bridesmaids. Emotional moments with her mom and sisters. And one particularly memorable first look with her dad and brother that had everyone wiping away happy tears.
Of course, one of the most anticipated moments of the entire day was the one Kennedy mentioned from the very beginning. No first look! Dan was determined that the first time he saw his bride would be when she walked down the aisle. And let me tell you… It did not disappoint!
As Kennedy made her way down the aisle, Dan’s eyes never left her. In a church filled with family and friends, it genuinely felt like they were the only two people in the room. The emotion on his face said everything. It was one of those moments that reminds you why couples still choose to wait for that aisle reveal!
After the ceremony, we moved quickly through portraits before heading to The BRIX for the reception. With a large wedding party and plenty of family photos to capture, the afternoon flew by, but everyone remained upbeat and ready to celebrate.
From the grand entrances to the packed dance floor, the energy never slowed down. Kennedy and Dan wanted a wedding day that felt like one big party, and their loved ones absolutely delivered. Every corner of the venue was filled with laughter, conversation, and people truly enjoying their time together.
One of my favorite parts of the day was spotting familiar faces throughout the crowd. Joe and I had the chance to reconnect with several of our past couples who were attending as guests, which always makes a wedding feel even more special. It’s one of the unexpected joys of this job – getting to see former couples celebrating alongside current ones and watching those friendships continue through different seasons of life.
The truth is, the entire day felt like a reflection of Kennedy and Dan themselves. Joyful, welcoming, energetic, and full of love. We truly couldn’t have asked for more!
The LaCost family certainly knows how to throw a party, and Dan fit right in from the very beginning. Together, their families created an atmosphere where everyone felt included, celebrated, and completely invested in this next chapter of their story.
As photographers, there are certain wedding days that stay with you long after you’ve delivered the gallery. Days where the people, the energy, and the memories leave a lasting impression. Kennedy and Dan’s wedding was one of those days. It was nonstop in the best possible way, and I know I’ll be smiling every time I think back on it!
Kennedy and Dan, thank you for trusting Joe and me to document such an incredible celebration! Your wedding was filled with so much joy! It was an honor to photograph your special day surrounded by the people who love you most.
