If every engagement session could come with Florida sunshine, I certainly wouldn’t complain!

When Allison and Anthony flew back to Illinois for Allison’s bridal shower, we planned their Downtown Naperville engagement photos around the trip. Somehow we ended up with the most beautiful weather imaginable! Mid-May in the Midwest can be unpredictable… But these two must have brought the Naples weather with them because we were treated to sunshine, temperatures in the 80s, and the perfect evening for exploring Downtown Naperville together.

As much as I loved the beautiful weather, getting to know Allison and Anthony was easily the best part of the day!

These two have such an incredible story that is rooted in family, support, and cheering one another through life’s biggest milestones. They actually met through their families, and over the years have built a life together that has taken them from the Midwest to sunny Florida.

Anthony recently graduated from law school and passed the bar exam after years of hard work and dedication. If you’ve ever known someone navigating law school, you know just how much commitment that journey requires. It’s such an exciting season as they finally get to celebrate everything they’ve worked toward while planning their wedding.

Along the way, Allison made a major move of her own, following Anthony to Naples as his career took shape. As someone who loves entrepreneurship, I was especially inspired hearing about her own business journey. Allison previously owned an online clothing boutique before discovering a new passion for teaching sewing. She now works as a sewing instructor for students throughout the Naples area. She recently opened her own dedicated studio space for Sewing Bar, where she can host classes year-round, too. Talk about going after your dreams!

Listening to them talk about the careers and dreams they’ve built together made it so easy to see the support and love they share. They’re the kind of couple that genuinely celebrates each other’s successes. It’s clear that partnership is at the heart of everything they do.

Their wedding will take place this summer at Etre Farms in St. Joseph, Michigan. A venue that I absolutely love! Michigan has always been a meaningful place for Allison. She attended college at Western Michigan University, and her family also has a lake house there… Making the location feel extra special for their celebration!

The day itself is going to be full of vibrant color, joyful energy, and plenty of pink details. After spending time with them, I already know it’s going to feel like one giant celebration. With friends and family gathering from so many chapters of their lives, it will be a beautiful reflection of the people and experiences that have shaped their story.

As we wandered through Downtown Naperville during their engagement session, I found myself getting more and more excited for their wedding day. The best engagement sessions are about more than creating beautiful photos. They’re about building connection and learning your story. So that when the wedding day arrives, it feels like you’re spending the day with friends.
