Spring senior sessions always carry a sense of excitement and anticipation for what’s ahead. Olivia’s senior session was the perfect example of that feeling in full bloom! As a Class of 2026 senior, Olivia stepped into this season ready to celebrate not only her senior year, but also everything that brought her to this moment.

After reaching out last fall when my calendar was fully booked (trust me, it’s so bittersweet!), I was excited when Olivia came back around for a spring session. It’s always worth the wait, and her session at The Morton Arboretum could not have been more beautiful.

There is just something special about spring at The Morton Arboretum. The soft greens, the first blooms, and that spring sunshine make it one of my favorite places to photograph seniors in the spring. Everything feels like it’s waking up again, which we are so ready for after Chicagoland winters! And beyond that, graduation is right around the corner, and you can feel the excitement in the air.

Olivia was drawn to natural, open spaces with a mix of florals and greenery… Of course, this senior photo location delivered exactly that! The Morton Arboretum gave us the perfect balance of variety while still keeping that soft, natural look she loved.

One of my favorite things about working with seniors is getting to know what makes them unique. Olivia’s laid-back, thoughtful personality really came through during her session. Whether she was talking about spending time at home with her three cats and two dogs, cruising around listening to music, or sharing about her experience with volleyball and recently picking up snowboarding, every little detail added to the story we were telling through her photos.

That’s something I always want my seniors to remember – your session doesn’t have to fit into a box. Olivia’s session was a reflection of her life right now, her interests, and what this season feels like for her. Whether you’re dreaming of open fields, florals, or simply incorporating the things you love most, we can create something that feels completely personal to you.
