St. James Forest Preserve Engagement || Danielle & Dom

This was the summer engagement session of my dreams! A golden sunset amongst the wildflowers at St. James Forest Preserve with a beautiful couple AND dogs?! I mean, come on!

You better believe that St. James Forest Preserve is just too good this time of year. This is my top location when clients say they want a natural, organic, and open field vibe. It’s a go-to Chicago suburb photo location that never disappoints!

Danielle and Dom got engaged in January of this year. They’ve been together for 8 years and are so excited to finally tie the knot. They love being outdoors, walking trails with their 3 perfect puppies, and binge watching their fav tv shows.

Danielle and Dom are models in front of the camera! Their mutual love language is physical touch, so they were naturals in front of the camera. Capturing them smooching, holding hands, and snuggling showed their true love and emotion for one another. These two currently call Texas home (Danielle is following her dreams of being a Veterinarian, heart eyes!) so I was so excited to get to meet them when they drove into town for Danielle’s bridal shower this summer! We were able to meet and knock out their engagement session during their visit – win, win!

Although they had photos taken in Texas for their save the dates, I am so glad they made their engagement session at St. James Forest Preserve a priority with yours truly. It gave us the opportunity to get to know each other a little better, and they could learn my posing techniques! Naturally, we might have talked about our dogs the entire session, but who can blame us! We laughed about how they are literally our babies and being “dog parents” is the best role.

It’s true – a glowy sunset, open field, gorgeous couple, and the best dogs made for a dream engagement session! I can’t wait to see this couple and their pups again on their wedding day!
